Bikini Bliss

I am being braver in my 40's than I have ever been before.
I have bought a new bikini, (and will wear it) something I vowed I would never do
Why I ask myself, as I now have horrendous stretch marks & cellulite
But do you know what, I am fedup of feeling I have an "inadequate" body
I didn't wear one in my 20's when my girlfriends and I had the most amazing bodies - tummies that were taught & tight, slim hips & thighs, we didn't even know what cellulite was!
Well no more... I refuse to look back when I am in my 60's and think do you know my tummy wasn't that bad.. the secret is look forward not back
Its downhill from here... my body is going to sag more/wrinkle more/get older..
So I have decided to feel proud to wear a bikini at 42
Waste no time, run to that bikini shop & revel in your beautiful bodies!
Try these out from Littlewoods

Its the realisation this is as good as it gets.....

Black & white with splashes of vibrant blue & raspberry

Perfect Pear

If you are the perfect pear shape, here are a few tips to making the most of your fab figure.
Focus on the top half
Patterns/details/fitted
Jackets & tops to sit on top of hips
Chunky necklaces, brooches, detail around neck/bosom area
Wear a padded bra & bigger cup size
I am an A cup & wear B/C - cheating I know but it balances out the hips
Wrap tops/dresses & wide shoulders are another good balancer
A-line is good, just below the knee

This Perfect Pear Dress Monsoon £95

Followers Of Fashion Young & Old

Just because we might be over 40, doesn't mean we don't want to look stunning....
In fact I believe its even more important.
With youth on your side you can wear anything and get away with it - literally anything. Shabby clothes look on-trend when you're 20, so do frumpy & ill-fitting clothes & young skin is a forgiver of any colour.
Hitting 40 that all changed & am sure this will happen every decade from here on in.
Your wardrobe has to be more considered, shapes that previously looked amazing now don't look quite the same or give us that same buzz that they used to.
We are changing and our wardrobes need to change & evolve with us.
As we get older we have so much more to offer and to utilise that we need to make sure we package ourselves and hang onto our outward identity.
Who wants to disappear into middle age anonymity? Not me!
It happens slowly and without us even noticing, until one day we go shopping & feel totally at sea, with no idea of what suits us, what looks right, how we should wear our favourite jeans.. the list goes on.
I speak from experience & my girlfriends too!
I feel inspired to trawl the shops & websites for those magical clothes that will make us all feel like princesses again and give us back the confidence getting old can sometimes take away from us... but I do need your help!
Please tag as a follower & comment as much as you can on any posts you like or don't like.
If you have a party to go to & don't know what to wear, what silhouttes suit your shape or you just want something to pep up your wardrobe... let me know & I will do my utmost to find the answers & share them!

The Beauty of Vivid Reds & Pinks

Sometimes colours which shouldn't go together are perfect together...
Like reds & pinks
Beautiful velvety cerise & deep vibrant pillar box reds.
Great as a lipstick & cardigan combination or dress & shoes
... or just roses in a vase

Over-dress with an "in-between" outfit on a rainy day

The flip flop weather has disappeared along with my desire for wearing wonderfully summery clothes. I am back to my grey winter woollies......
So I suggest we all over-dress today & cheer ourselves up with a glam "in-between" outfit... not too summery you feel miserably cold & naked but not too wintery that it's depressing!
I have found this amazing dress from Hobbs (£189.00), such a scrumptious colour & for all you flat chested ladies out there (like me) so very flattering. Wear with these truly fab shoes comfy & on-trend shoes from Viva La Diva (£25.00) with great bag from Topshop (£35.00), big enough for anything.
If you want to add to the look, wear with a basic cardigan in a rich orange or green & some chunky wooden jewellery.
Enjoy the rain! You'll have heads turning in this outfit on the supermarket run!!

Glam up the outfit & swap bag & shoes for these amazing shoes (Topshop £70) & fab gold sequin clutch bag (Monsoon £36). Deep red looks amazing with on-trend gold!
