I have a last minute evening wedding reception to go to

I have done this with a maxi dress & just tucked the hem in my knickers.... looked fab!

Have just returned from a lovely long relaxing holiday!

Still in holiday mode & not wanting to venture out into the commercial world I was convinced I would be able to nip into the bank with my new found "blinkers"

Who was I kidding?

I was pulled like a magnet into nearly every store I passed...

What I did discover is that in the past few weeks, the high street has turned into Military Madness

Was I tempted? You bet!

I treated myself to a Zara one £15 reduced from £50!

Primark had a fab one for £18 but the "Tulip" curved hem shape isn't very flattering for the 40 something bottom

Opt for a straight hem, fitted style

The dress is to die for & Davina is gorgeous
BUT they aren't a match made in heaven
This dress really has to be worn with a CLEAVAGE
It just draws the attention to Davina's lacking in the bosom dept!
Clothes should draw us to the best bits & cover up our lacking bits
This is just emphasising Davina's pear shape, not flattering it!
Although the frilly wide shoulders are great to even out wider hips

But hey she isn't wearing black, so that must count for something?

Bikini Bliss

I am being braver in my 40's than I have ever been before.
I have bought a new bikini, (and will wear it) something I vowed I would never do
Why I ask myself, as I now have horrendous stretch marks & cellulite
But do you know what, I am fedup of feeling I have an "inadequate" body
I didn't wear one in my 20's when my girlfriends and I had the most amazing bodies - tummies that were taught & tight, slim hips & thighs, we didn't even know what cellulite was!
Well no more... I refuse to look back when I am in my 60's and think do you know my tummy wasn't that bad.. the secret is look forward not back
Its downhill from here... my body is going to sag more/wrinkle more/get older..
So I have decided to feel proud to wear a bikini at 42
